Setup Process
Pick up a Level 2 OCPP-certified charger. Many are available on Amazon for $300–$800.
Create a free JPlug account and enter the JPlug OCPP server URL in your charger's settings. The dashboard confirms when the connection is active.
Choose what you charge: per kWh, per hour, or flat per session. Drivers pay by card. Revenue deposits to your account on your schedule.
Benefits
Every session earns you money. Set your rate above your electricity cost and the difference is margin. With multiple chargers and steady foot traffic, this adds up to a real revenue line.
Customers who are charging while they eat or shop stay longer. A 45-minute charge at a restaurant is a 45-minute customer. EV drivers spend more at businesses where they charge.
"We have EV charging" is now a reason someone chooses your parking lot over the one across the street. It attracts EV drivers and shows up on Google Maps, PlugShare, and EV charging apps.
Management
No command line. No vendor calls. No IT tickets. If a charger goes offline, we send you an alert. If a driver has a payment dispute, you see the session receipt.

Investment
Charger hardware
$300–$800
Level 2, OCPP-certified, from Amazon or wholesale

Your first charging station is free. $25/month per additional charger. No percentage of your charging revenue.
Most locations with moderate EV traffic recover hardware and installation costs within 12–18 months from charging fees alone — before counting the value of increased dwell time and new customers.
